Wimbledon - Millenium Building

Fire and life safety design review and consultancy for a phased refurbishment of Wimbledon Millenium Building.

Our scope of services

Rely on Fire Check were appointed to provide specialist fire and life safety consultancy services in support of SES Engineering Services for the phased refurbishment of the Millennium Building at the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), delivered alongside Sir Robert McAlpine.

Rely on Fire Check undertook detailed technical and design reviews of the RIBA Stage 3 consultant-produced life safety system information. These reviews focused on compliance, coordination, system strategy and the identification of technical risks and opportunities for optimisation, supporting the development of robust and buildable design solutions suitable for a high-occupancy, live venue environment.

In addition to the early-stage design reviews, Rely on Fire Check supported the appointed subcontractors through the development of their detailed design packages. This included technical guidance on system integration and the coordination of complex cause and effect requirements arising from the phased works, multiple interfaced systems and the operational nature of the site.

Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring seamless system operation across existing and new installations, maintaining life safety performance throughout the refurbishment phases and promoting a right-first-time approach to delivery within this high-profile, operational sporting venue.
