Vita Student Accommodation

Rely on Fire Check were appointed by SES Engineering Services, the electrical subcontractor to Bowmer + Kirkland, to provide specialist fire and life safety design services for Vita Student accommodation developments, including projects in Newcastle and other locations.

Rely on Fire Check were appointed to undertake the RIBA Stage 4 design of the Fire Detection & Fire Alarm and Emergency Voice Communication systems. Each design package included detailed general arrangement drawings, comprehensive schematics, zone diagrams, loop and standby battery calculations, and the production of System Overview documents clearly defining all system requirements and performance criteria.

Following completion of the detailed design packages, Rely on Fire Check further supported SES Engineering Services through subcontractor profiling and selection. This included technical tender analysis of subcontractor quotations measured against the Rely on Fire Check designs, ensuring equipment quantities, system proposals and methodologies were fully aligned with the approved design intent.

This process enabled SES Engineering Services to achieve best-value installation and procurement pricing while maintaining full compliance with the relevant British Standards and satisfying all employer and brand requirements for these high-occupancy, experience-led student accommodation environments.
